Privacy Policy

The Pharmacogenomic Clinical Decision Support (PGx-CDS) Application (“Application”) has been developed for All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal to support healthcare professionals by providing pharmacogenomic (PGx)-based clinical decision support. The Application is intended to assist clinicians by delivering evidence-linked pharmacogenomic recommendations and should not be considered a substitute for professional medical judgment.

1. Information We Collect

The Application collects only the information necessary for its intended functionality, including:

• Account Information: Institutional email address and authentication information.
• Usage Information: Drug searches, application interactions, and system activity logs.
• Technical Information: Device, operating system, application version, and diagnostic information required for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

The Application is designed to minimize the collection of personally identifiable patient information.

2. Use of Information

Information collected through the Application is used solely for:

• Providing pharmacogenomic clinical decision support.
• Enabling core application functionality.
• Maintaining system security and access control.
• Monitoring application performance and improving usability.
• Supporting audit and operational requirements.

3. Pharmacogenomic and Health-Related Information

The Application may process pharmacogenomic information (such as genotype data) entered by authorized users to generate clinical decision support recommendations.

Such information:

• Is processed solely for the purpose of generating pharmacogenomic recommendations.
• Is handled in accordance with the deployment configuration and applicable institutional policies.
• Is not disclosed to unauthorized third parties.

4. Data Sharing

The Application does not sell, rent, or disclose information to third parties for commercial or marketing purposes.

Information is processed only within authorized infrastructure supporting the Application and may be accessed only by authorized personnel in accordance with applicable institutional policies.

5. Data Security

Appropriate technical and organizational safeguards are implemented to protect information processed by the Application, including:

• Encrypted communication (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Role-based access control
• Audit logging
• Secure storage practices

6. Data Retention

Information is retained only for the period necessary to support operational, security, audit, and analytical requirements, and in accordance with applicable institutional policies.

7. User Rights

Requests relating to user accounts or information processed by the Application may be submitted to the system administrator or the designated project contact, subject to applicable institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

9. Clinical Disclaimer

It does not replace professional medical judgment, diagnosis, or clinical decision-making. Final prescribing, diagnostic, and treatment decisions remain the responsibility of the treating healthcare professional.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in the Application, applicable regulations, or institutional policies. Continued use of the Application following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
